And the Furniture Re-use Network (FRN) didn't quite conquer the category we were shortlisted for, but those of our members who were also up for an award absolutely stormed it!

On Wednesday evening those organisations shortlisted in the MRW National Recycling Awards came together for an evening to celebrate the fantastic feats of work that our sectors - re-use, recycling and waste had achieved. And it was here that Martin and Paula from Total Reuse, Jason and Richard from Tendring Reuse & Employment Enterprise (T.R.E.E) and Claire and myself, Bex Jones from the FRN, met up to share our excitement at being there. It just proves that the re-use sector is being recognised!

T.R.E.E won their category - Best Private - Public Sector Partnership with Braintree District Council.

Total Reuse won their category - Waste Prevention Award - Public & Third Party.

Having collected his award, Richard from T.R.E.E said "I only applied for the award because I saw a post from the FRN team on the members discussions board suggesting that FRN members should enter in for one of these awards. Without that prompt, I'd have never done it and T.R.E.E wouldn't be recognised here today!"

It is absolutely wonderful to see the FRN members getting the recognition for their exceptional work at these awards. The positive impacts of re-use to society and the environment is really being acknowledged.
